Residential and small business customers can choose between a Time-of-Use (TOU) or Tiered pricing structure as of November 1, 2020.

With TOU the day is divided into 3 price periods: off-peak, mid-peak, and on-peak, and the price you pay depends on when you use electricity. With Tiered prices, you can use a certain amount of electricity each month at a lower price. Once that limit is exceeded, a higher price applies.

For customers already on TOU who wish to continue being billed with the TOU pricing no action is required.

Tiered Price

A small number of customers are on the pricing system, known as Tiered Pricing. The charges for these customers, effective May 1, 2023-October 31, 2023, are:

Up to 750 kWh per month

$/kWh

0.087

Consumption beyond 750 kWh

$/kWh

0.103

General Service customers with consumption in excess of 250,000 kWh are subject to hourly electricity pricing. Customers with an interval meter pays the hourly spot price; customers who do not have an interval meter pay the weighted wholesale price. In addition, a customer on hourly electricity pricing has a separate line item on their bill called global adjustment.
